Raspberry Jelly Bread with Hot Cocoa

I grew up on home made raspberry jelly and this is something I like to make with it a lot usually for breakfast. If you don’t have home made jelly store bought is ok but not quite as good. This wouldn’t be the same with any other kind of jelly.

I made this as a kid and still do!  My mom says they would dip just about any kind of toast in hot cocoa so I’m sure I must have learned this from my mom.

First you make the hot cocoa according to the package directions.  I usually fill a cup up to about 1/2″ away from the top, put in the microwave and press the beverage button. Once done stir in the hot coca mix.

Toast the bread in a toaster.

Spread about 1 tbs of raspberry jelly on one side of each slice of bread and fold in half. It’s important to fold in half.

Dip a little bit of the folded jelly bread in the hot cocoa, eat the part you dipped and repeat. I usually press it slightly on the inside of the cup as I’m pulling it out so it doesn’t have too much hot cocoa and drip too much.
